After over ten years of planning and the better part of nearly 2 years of construction, the new
Tottenham Hotspur stadium is due to open its doors for the first ever competitive game when Spurs

This will no doubt be an emotional occasion for all Tottenham Hotspur fans who have looked
forward to this day since it was announced that their stadium is due to open in September 2018.
Spurs will move into their state-of-the-art arena, following a test event that took place a few days
ago when Tottenham Hotspur U-18 team beat Southampton U-18 team by the score 3-1.

Mauricio Pochettino feeling emotional and very much expectant that he can finally lead his team in a
home match after spending nearly two seasons away from North London at the Wembley.
The Spurs manager said that "it is unbelievable," adding "I have the same feeling as the last day at
White Hart Lane, when we were crying. The first day here is the same emotion. Our dream has come
true.” The anticipation is very palpable as the Argentinian coach is eagerly waiting to be in the
dugout for the first time.
With a capacity of 62,062, the new stadium is officially the biggest club stadium in London, with a
grass pitch for football games and an artificial surface that will be used for NFL games. One of the
most impressive parts of the stadium is the new South Stand, which will be known as the ‘Wall’
similar to the tier effect that is in place at Borussia Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park stadium. The Spurs
Wall cab hold 17,500 seats and reaches 34 meters high.
Spurs head into April with some pivotal games to be played at their new stadium in the Premier
League as well as the with Quarter Finals of the UEFA Champions League with Manchester City
playing against the Lilywhites on the 9 April.
