The Premier League is well underway with Liverpool on top of the table, defending the title, and Spurs, surprisingly, now in sixth place. This year, the EPL has been full of many surprises, with several underdog teams performing better than the big six. A week ago, Tottenham was flaunting the top position in the table, and now they have been reduced to the sixth place. Still, two places above Manchester City who, it is safe to say, have not had a great season. Like every year, we analyze the top performers of the season so far, and after thorough research, we have concluded the top five scorers of the Premier League 2020/21 as it is taking place.

1. Mohamed Salah - Liverpool

Consistent with his astounding performances and statistics for Liverpool, Salah has developed into a world-class player under Jurgen Klopp's guidance and management. Ever since he made his debut on August 12, 2017, the Egyptian striker has constantly wowed and proved he was no one-season wonder. This season, Salah has scored 13 goals in 13 matches so far, and he could be well on his way to yet another Golden Boot - his third in his entire football career.

2. Son Heung-min - Tottenham Hotspur

Predominantly a left-winger, Son is a man of many talents, and he can also play behind the striker as a shadow striker. Under Jose Mourinho, the 28-year-old Korean is flourishing and flaunts his brilliant shooting ability with both of his feet while putting up unexpectedly daunting gameplay. So far, in 14 matches, Son has scored 11 times, an impressive record for which Son is not solely responsible, but Harry Kane, as well. "Son Heung-min and Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur have now combined for 12 goals in the English Premier League (EPL) this season, making them the second-most prolific goal-scoring duo in a single season ever."

3. Jamie Vardy - Leicester City

Winner of the Premier League Golden Boot last season, Vardy is steadily building a name for himself this season as well. It is undoubtful that the 33-year-old is at the pinnacle of his career with 11 goals in 13 matches so far. Leicester City briefly dominated the table at the start of the season, but now, Liverpool have taken their place with 31 points, and the Foxes are just underneath them with 27 points. With Vardy being the driving force behind Brendan Rogers team, Leicester City have an excellent chance at the title this year, and Vardy may be on his way to another Golden Boot.

4. Dominic Calvert-Lewin - Everton

Although Carlo Ancelotti has coached some of the greatest strikers in the past, the impact that he has had on Calvert-Lewin is, particularly admirable. It was never a question of talent or skill - both were always present in abundance. Ancelotti helped unlock the confidence that the English footballer lacked, and he has now taken his gameplay to new levels with 11 goals in 14 matches already. According to statistics, Calvert-Lewin is also the joint second-highest goal-scorer in the league, and one of the driving forces behind Everton’s title challenge.

5. Harry Kane - Tottenham Hotspur

The 27-year-old has done nothing but progress and prosper under Mourinho's guidance. The striker seems reinvented with a new purpose along with his teammate, Son Heung-min. The Portuguese manager has unlocked this daunting, dynamic duo, and together they have the potential to cause critical damage. Alone, however, Kane is no less of a star. The English captain is regarded as one of the most naturally gifted strikers worldwide, and he has an all-round ability that sets him apart from others. He has also appeared in Sportingbet's list of Europe's deadliest strikers with a total of 119 goals scored across the top five leagues in the last five seasons. Alongside Son Heung- min, Kane might be in for a Golden Boot this year and, if Tottenham get back on track with their consistent wins, a Premier League title too.
